There are two railway stations in Hertford.
The closest to the town centre is Hertford East, which connects to many stations in the Lea Valley down to Liverpool Street in London. Sunday services at twice hourly. Oyster and contactless cards can be used all the way to Hertford.
Hertford North is a ten minutes walk from the town centre and connects to stations in North London down to Moorgate. There is NO Oyster or contactless payment system on this line.
Hertford is around 20 miles north of London on the A10. The A414 also passes east to west through the town.
